Galvanizing Technology of Waste-water

The purpose of the procedure is to extract and dispose the contaminants arising from various waste-waters in the surface treatment plant with the help of a waste-water equipment so that the concentration of those will be in conformity with the threshold limit allowed in regulations that are in effect.

The waste-water equipment does not have to be in accordance with the type of the refuse water arising in the surface treatment plant (e.g. acid, alkaline, of cyanide, etc) as well as to the concentration of the contaminants (dilute solution or concentrate)

Types of waste-water equipments:

1. Intermittent-duty:

The waste-water arriving from the surface treatment plant is collected in a waste-water receiving vessel and then it is pipelined into the reactor where reactants are fed into it in accordance with the type of the waste-water and the concentration of the contaminants. Following this the treated waste-water is forwarded into a settling pan or settling tank (e.g. of oblique plated), where the solid stage is separated from the wet stage. The waste-water that is exempted from the solid stage, following a pH-checkup, will be discharged from the waste-water treatment plant through either a pebble-screen, an activated carbon filter or an end cation filter. The solid stage will get into a sludge compactor where approximately 20 - 30% solid material content can be achieved. During additional dehydrating in a sludge-drying equipment approximately 90 % solid material content can be achieved which means significant economic advantage since the deposition and destruction costs of the galvanic sludge to be placed can be radically decreased.

2. Continuous production:

In case of the continuous production of the equipment the waste-water arriving from the surface treating plant gets into a storage tank, too, in order to ensure the steady rhythm of the waste-water treatment. From the storage tank the waste-water to be processed gets into the reactor where the concentration of the contamination is measured with sensors that are suitable for contaminants and the appropriate reactant are fed into it with automatic feeding pumps. The waste-water to be treated is continuously flowing through the reactor where the intensive mixing and the properly operating controlling system assures the perfection of the treatment. The treated waste-water effusing from the reactor gets into a settling equipment where the separation of the solid phase takes place. After this the treated waste-water (similarly to those described in connection with equipments of intermittent-duty) gets over a pH-control, maybe an activated-carbon treatment, a final cation exchange and pebble-screen. The solid phase gets into a sludge press in this case, too, then (on-demand) it can be enriched on in a sludge drying equipment.

3. Waste-water treatment with recycling

In order to decrease the use of the rinse water the treated waste water, after further treating, can be traced back to the surface treating plant. In this case the waste-water treatment is made more efficient with further cation and anion exchangers as well as with activated carbon cleaner that is used for the removal of the organic components, extracting all the contaminants from the water. The produced water can be used for water supplement in case of almost all the tanks in the surface treating plant.

4. Automatic waste-water treating equipment

Both the intermittent duty and the continuous waste-water treatment can be realized automatically. In this case the control of the waste-water treating equipment is carried out by computer. The metering units belonging to the equipment measure the parameters of the incoming waste - water, in accordance with those the computer have the feeding pumps to feed the chemicals needed for the treatment into it and controls the quality of the water flowing out. Human intervention is only confined to fill the treating chemicals. In case of failure the computer gives an error signal, even in SMS format, if needed.

The above waste-water treating technologies, after the appropriate development or conversion, can also be used by such companies that are dealing with not surface treating but with cutting, painting or with any other industrial activities.
